Overview
Atlas had six products, four button styles, and no shared vocabulary. Every new feature meant re-deciding things that should have been settled years ago.
The challenge
A design system only works if teams adopt it. The real constraint was migration cost, because nobody was going to stop shipping to refactor their UI.
What we did
We audited every surface, built a token-first system that could be adopted file by file, and shipped it as both a Figma library and a typed React package with codemods for the common replacements.
